Chapter 317 & 318: Television

Happy Wednesday!

Television. It is a huge part of our lives, and lately, it seems to be heading towards the path of social media sites. Sites such as Netflix and Hulu stream shows (some for free), making it possible for viewers to access content on a device other than their television screens.

Is that a good thing? It means that technology is advancing, that new breakthroughs and ideas are coming to light each and every day in this fast-paced world of ours.ย

But could it be a bad thing? The television industry is suffering from the use of other technology to view shows, with ratings and viewership suffering from the lack of viewers tuning in to live shows/new episodes.

Technology is an amazing thing, but it is also terrifying. And it’ll keep changing, evolving into something bigger and better. And I guess we’re just going along for the ride.

So, what do you think about the advancement of technology?

Have an awesome week! xxoo

P.S. I’ve decided to try something new out, a Quote Of The Day (QOTD)! Let me know what you think of this idea ๐Ÿ™‚

Today’s QOTD: “The real problem is not whether machines think but whether men do.” -B. F. Skinnerย

  1. So back a couple of decades ago cable made us a promise. We would pay for tv that wasn’t censored and didn’t have commercial. They sort of lied on both accounts. I think Netflix and other streaming services are making good on those promises. Plus I like the different things they try on these services.

  2. I think TV needs to innovate and not just produce copy cat programmes all the time, if it does that it may claw viewers back…this last 100 years has been frightening fr the rise of technology. I think what we all need is silence and a bloody good book to make the world right…but I could be biased.

  3. I know from my point of view, it is a handicap! It’s an amazing use of technology , but not necessarily a good one.
As long as Netflix is just a simple click away, the temptation to watch some brain-draining shows and movies, is too great!
If I have a weak moment, I find myself glued to the little screen instead of pursuing creative and productive pursuits like writing and blogging!
