What To Do On A Long Car Trip

10) Bring snacks. I cannot stress this enough. Eventually someone will be hungry, and having something to give them will make the trip a lot smoother.

9) If you’re in the backseat, you are free to nap. The person in the passenger seat is tasked with keeping the driver awake and alert. The driver drives the car.

8) Play music, or even make a good playlist to listen to on the trip.

7) Take photos of the trip! Enjoy the scenery.

6) If you’re one of those people who can read in the car, bring something long and/or interesting to read.

4) Try to stop every once in a while. It’s good to stretch and explore your surroundings.

3) Make sure to bring headphones/chargers/batteries/etc.Nothing is worse than running out of power on a long car trip.

2) If possible, take turns driving! No one really wants to drive for the whole trip.

1) Enjoy!

Tips For When You Go On An Adventure

10) Take pictures of anything and everything.

9) Share those photos with the people you went on the adventure with. If you went by yourself, share them with people you’d like to go on an adventure with.

8) Wear comfortable clothes. Especially if your adventure is a long way away.

7) Get lost sometimes. It’s always fun to get lost in a new place.

6) If you’re driving, make sure you have enough gas. See tip 7.

5) Always keep a list of places that you want to explore/travel to.

4) Make the most out of your adventure. It’s sometimes that you can only explore it once, so take it all in.

3) Some adventures are supposed to be explored by yourself, and some are meant to be explored with others.

2. Turn off your electronics, even just for a few minutes.

1. Take it all in. Go on an adventure.

10 Things To Remember While Traveling To A New Country

Recently I traveled from Florence to London for part of Spring Break, and here are some tips I picked up along the way.

  1. Bring comfortable shoes/pack for the weather you’re traveling to. Just because it’s warm wherever you are doesn’t mean it’s the same wherever you’re going.
  2. Don’t forget your chargers/extra batteries/adapters. You really don’t want to be stuck in a countr y without a way to stay connected/take photos.
  3. Hit up the touristy spots, especially if it’s your first time there. Maybe even try a bus tour! Although it may feel a little silly, it’s a good way to see the city.
  4. Try the local food! Even if you don’t like it, it’s still a fun experience. Plus, you get bragging rights that you’ve tried something new.
  5. Bring a journal/something to write in. This is a necessity, so you remember the things that happen on your trip.
  6. Be open minded. Realize it’s okay to feel good/bad things throughout your trip! (This tip was given to me by my housemate Gaby…thanks Gab!)
  7. Get lost. This sounds a little weird, I know, but it can be a fun adventure to find your way around the city/country that you’re in! Just make sure to pack a map.
  8. Find fun things to do, like a local exhibit or a fair. It’s fun, and a good way to explore your surroundings.
  9. Get some rest! It’s no fun exploring when you’re exhausted, plus it’ll boost your energy while you’re traveling.
  10. Have fun. Traveling has its highs and lows, so take all of it in stride and enjoy your adventures.

Have a great weekend!

I’m Alive, and in Florence!

Happy Sunday !

It’s official folks, I am in Florence! I will be here for roughly the next 3 1/2 months. And I couldn’t be happier!

The jet lag/homesickness has been a little rough, but Italy is definitely making up for it with its amazing food and beautiful sights!

One thing I noticed throughout the course of the first week here is that no matter how old you get, going to new places can be scary. But seeing some familiar faces can definitely help any lingering doubts.

Also, take time to explore by yourself! Not at night of course, but I’ve found myself wandering around during the day, peeking into shops and seeing all of the touristy spots in the early morning hours.

And don’t be afraid to get lost! Seeing as I am directionally challenged, I’ve already managed to do this a few times, but it’s proven to be surprisingly fun; and a great way to explore the new environment that you’re in!

So I leave you with some first week pictures, and plenty more to come!

Have a fantastic week to come!

What To Do While I’m Traveling Abroad

Happy Wednesday!

So as I mentioned in my last few posts, I will be traveling to Florence, Italy for four months (i.e., my semester abroad).

However, what I didn’t mention is that I’ll be traveling there in 2 days. SURPRISE!

It’s going to be a huge change of pace for me, not to mention a 6-hour time difference. But I couldn’t be more excited for the new adventures that are in store.

But what does this mean for you, the readers? It means I might be posting at different times (i.e., 8 P.M. Italian time, but 2 P.M. US time), and it means my posts will (hopefully) include pictures, but they also might be shorter content wise.

So, this is just a heads up on my new schedule, and I will post a follow-up tomorrow 🙂

Have an awesome evening!

Happy Tuesday!

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be?

I’M GOING TO ITALY…in Spring 2015. I know it’s a long way away, but I’m so excited to be going. It will be for a few months as part of my Junior Year Study Abroad!

It look me an extra six months to reapply and to be accepted, but I can finally go! I will be in Florence, and I hope to explore other places and countries as well when I’m abroad!

So, where is your favorite place to travel? What do you like about it?

Have an awesome Tuesday!

Chapters 312, 313 & 314: Chicago

Happy Sunday!

As I mentioned in my last post, Dad and I flew to Chicago to attend the Lollapalooza Music Festival.

I’ve never been to Chicago before, so I was excited to visit the city, and I wasn’t disappointed! The city was beautiful, and I loved exploring!

And the festival. What can I say? It was one of the best experiences of my life, and I had so much fun. I’ll share some pictures below.

Hope you all had an amazing weekend!

Now for the pictures:

Chapter 278: NYC and Day 29

Happy Saturday! I’m sorry for the super late post, but I’m currently in NYC with my family to celebrate my mom’s birthday!

Even though this is later, I still wanted to post today, as I’m still continuing with the 31-Day Blogging Challenge! Today is Day…29 I believe (I’m typing this from my phone, so it’s a little difficult to check, but I’m pretty sure I’m correct!)

The challenge is: “Where Have You Traveled?”

Lots of places! But a few highlights are…

1. California
2. New York
3. Florida
4. The Bahamas
5. London

So there are the highlights!

Where have you traveled?

Have a great weekend! xxoo

Chapter 150: Packing & Errands

Happy Saturday!

So, as I mentioned in my last post, I’m flying out to see my family tomorrow, and won’t be back until Thursday. I’m also not bringing my computer, so if I’m not posting at all, that’s the reason why.

I’ve been running around all day to make sure everything is ready for my trip, and now the only thing left is to finish packing/charging everything. It’s exhausting, but I guess I’ll just sleep on the plane tomorrow.

Hope you all have a great weekend!
