Chapter 36: Vote.

Happy Election Day!

Today, I just would like to say that for the first time in my life, I had the amazing opportunity to vote in an election in the United States. It made me proud to finally be old enough to do this act, since I’ve been watching my mom and dad go into the polls and watching them pull the level or check the boxes on a ballot for years….and now it’s finally my turn at following their well-set example.

I like to think that my vote does matter, and I also believe that no matter what you look like, where you’re from, or what your background is…you should vote. Because it’s your right to do so, and it’s worth every pull of a level or check off on a ballot slip.

Chapter 14: Family Farewells

Sadly, today is my final day with my family (and my bed!) before I head back to school tomorrow. Needless to say, I’m not the happiest about leaving my home and all of my family behind, but I’m actually a bit excited to be getting back to school soon, although for the reason of seeing my friends, and not because of the insane workload I have.

But I know that I needed these past few days to recover and step back for a second to reevaluate the big picture that has been my life at school. And being home has helped me to remind myself why I wanted to go to school in the first place, and how happy I am there. There’s a saying that “home is where the heart is”, and my heart is telling me that no matter where I go, I’ll always have a place to stay at home if I ever should need it. And, I needed it a few days ago, but now I’m up and fighting to get back to school and work my butt off trying to make my parents (and myself) proud.

Have a great Monday! xxoo
