Chapter 265: Dear Dad

Happy Sunday (again)

I just wanted to wish my father a very Happy Father’s Day, and since I know he reads my blog, I thought I’d write to him here. Happy Father’s Day Dad, I love you!

June 16, 2013

Dear Dad,

Happy Father’s Day! I’m writing this letter to say thank you for everything, and to say that you’re the best father ever. Thank you for being so loving and caring, and for always being there for me. Thank you for believing in me, even when I don’t believe in myself. Thank you for supporting me, in my choices, my education, my style, even though we sometimes don’t see eye-to-eye. Thank you for raising me to be a good person, one who treats others well and who is kind. Thank you for laughing at my jokes, even when they’re not always funny. Thank you for spending countless hours editing my work, even though you don’t have to. Thank you for singing, even when we ask you to stop. Thank you for caring for Kate, Maddie and I, because no matter what, you are always there for us, and cheering us on. Thank you for fostering my love of reading (and staying up late to finish the 5th Harry Potter book). Thank you really isn’t enough, but I hope this letter shows you how much you mean to me! I love you so much, and Happy Father’s Day!

 xxoo, Samantha

Have a great day! xxoo

Chapter 245: 31 Day Blogging Challenge…This Should Be Interesting!

Happy Saturday (again!)

So, as it is June 1st, I thought it’d be cool if I attempted to do the 31 Day Blog Challenge!

Here I go…wish me luck 🙂

DAY 1: Introduction and Recent Photo

Hello! My name is 18yearsyoung, I’ve been blogging since October 3rd, 2012, and I’m a college student. Lovely to meet you.

Recent Photo: My feet 🙂

Day 1: Completed!

Chapters 236, 237, & 238: Holiday

Happy Monday! (And Happy Memorial Day!)

As I mentioned in a previous post, I was away this past weekend for a soccer tournament  But I’m back home now, ready for some sunshine and blogging!

Today in the US, it’s Memorial Day. It’s the day where we honor our men and women who served in the US Armed Forces. This holiday is bittersweet, because as we honor the people who served and protected our country, we also remember the fallen soldiers. The ones who died trying to protect our country, and the ones who still are fighting today. My grandpa was a Korean War veteran, and I miss him every day.

But even though this holiday is one of remembrance  it’s also one of celebration.  We celebrate the lives of the men and women who served, and continue to serve our country. They are amazing people, and I cannot thank them enough for keeping us safe.

So to all of the men and women who protect and defend, in all parts of the world, thank you.

Do you know anyone who was in (or is currently in) the Armed Forces? Or, if you’re not from the US, do you know anyone who served (or currently serves) in your country’s military? My grandpa was a pilot during the Korean War, and the pictures of him in his uniform are amazing.

Hope you all have an amazing week!

Chapters 230 & 231: Doctors’ Office

Happy Monday!

The doctors’ office can be scary places to visit. You visit them when you’re sick, or just for a check-up. Sometimes you get to visit them a lot, or only a few times. Sometimes you travel to see different several different doctors, who have his or her own way of talking to you and checking you out. Sometimes the doctors tell you good news, sometimes bad. Some people hate going to the doctors’, but for me, I’ve just gotten used to it. I have a neutral opinion about doctors’ offices, because over the course of my life, I’ve spent a fair amount of time in them, but it honestly could be worse. At least sometimes, I get a lollipop on my way out.

So, why don’t you like the doctors’ office? Or, if you don’t mind them, why? Personally, since I don’t mind them, it’s mainly because they have a ton of books & magazines to read.

Hope you have an awesome week!

Chapter 191: Lazy Day

Happy Saturday!

Have you ever had a day where you don’t want to do anything? Simply stay in bed, or avoid all work. Everyone has those days, but sometimes, not everyone uses them. Sometimes work, or life is more important than taking a day to relax and clear your mind. Sometimes, you know what the weeks ahead will entail, so taking a day off isn’t an option. But those days where you don’t do anything? They are priceless.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Chapters 155 & 156: Sun Thoughts

Happy Friday!

Today is my last day before flying back home…to the freezing cold. It’s been great spending time with my family in the warm weather, so I’m a bit bummed to be heading back. Of course, I miss my parents and sister, but the idea of going back to the cold is extremely unappealing. Plus, school starts back up on Monday, and my workload is already piling up.

Oh well, goodbye warm weather…and hello warm sweaters.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Chapters 146 & 147: Almost There…

Happy Wednesday!

I’m sorry for not posting a “chapter” yesterday, as I was studying for midterm exams. I still have one more to take tomorrow, but then I’m free! Well, for a week or so anyway, but still. I can’t wait to head home and relax for a little while without too much homework/pressure of exams.

Only one more day….which will be even better once I study some more, and actually pack my stuff 😛

Hope you all have an awesome day!

Chapter 134: People Thinking About Other People?

Happy Thursday, and Happy Valentine’s Day!

People in general, can be selfish. They can be vain, self-absorbed, and cruel. But today, it was the opposite. People were kind and polite to each other, everyone seemed to be feeling the effects of the holiday….which was really nice to see and be in.

I don’t believe that people are terrible overall, but I do think people could be kinder. Starting with myself, even though I do think I try to be as kind as possible, I know deep down, I could achieve so much more.

So, happy Valentine’s Day, and if you’re in a relationship or not, I love you.

Chapters 132 & 133: I Like Valentine’s Day, So What?

Happy Wednesday!

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day. You know, the pink & red decorated “Day of Love”, complete with flowers and candy and love? Now, while at school, I’ve made several friends who hate Valentine’s Day. They don’t like pink, or the day of love, they think it’s just “another stupid, consumer, Hallmark holiday where people who are in relationships are cliche, and single people are upset and needy.”

I don’t agree with that at all. I happen to love Valentine’s Day, and while I understand why they dislike it, I don’t really care. I love red (pink’s okay), I love seeing people in love, and I love candy/flowers/cliche gestures. It doesn’t matter if you’re single or in a relationship, either way, there’s someone out there who loves you, not just tomorrow…but everyday of the year.

And yes, I’m single…and that’s great! It doesn’t change the way I’ll act tomorrow, I still have classes, and a test, so really, it’s just another normal day. Just with a little more love involved.

Hope you all have an amazing Valentine’s Day (or Single-Awareness Day!), and I love you no matter what day of the year it is. I just will actually tell you that tomorrow ❤

So happy Vale
